1-2-1 Haven House provides resources and support services for homeless persons living with HIV/AIDS. As a HUD funded transitional housing facility operated by the AIDS Services Coalition of Hattiesburg, 1-2-1 Haven House expects residents to meet the challenges that result in independent living.
Residents work, attend school or are otherwise active in |
the community. All receive individual therapeutic counseling. Residents affected by alcohol and drug abuse attend support groups and participate in related programs and activities as a condition of residency.
1-2-1 Haven House's location is undisclosed. Privacy, confidentiality, safety, health, and progression toward the independence of every resident are the primary values of the Haven House staff.
Housekeeping, food preparation and the appearance of the House and grounds is the responsibility of the residents. |
Personal Growth
Each resident learns to face his or her own personal obstacles and life situations directly. 1-2-1 Haven House provides residents the environment to deal responsibly and effectively with individual circumstances so that goals can be identified and reached. Learning and applying the skills necessary for successful

transition into society is expected of all residents. Personal commitments to succeeding are balanced with individual attention, clearly defined expectations and ongoing Staff support.
Residents can use case management and other services after they are living independently. |

Privacy
First and foremost, 1-2-1 Haven House is a home for the residents. No information about residents is released without permission of the resident.
Visitors are required to sign confidentiality statements as part of the resident need for privacy.
The residents have a separate telephone line for their use only, and the number is unlisted.
Resident Admission
Being admitted as a resident to 1-2-1 Haven House requires the applicant to meet specific criteria. Potential residents are requested to work with Haven House staff by providing documentation and meeting with staff members for one-on-one interviews. Timelines and accuracy of the information is vital to a successful application process. |
